The URI to use for accessing a REST service where the classic AppServer and the default Tomcat web server are used is as follows:
http://<host>:<port>/<project's service name>/rest/<project's service name>/<resource name>.
For this demonstration, the sports2000 Customer database table is used.

For a project where the service is running on the local machine, the default port is used, the Tomcat web server that ships with OpenEdge is used, a project called my_rest_project is created, and a resource called GetCustomers is created, the full URI would be the following:
http://localhost:8980/my_rest_projectService/rest/my_rest_projectService/GetCustomers

Please notice that, by default, the REST service name is the project's name in PDS for OpenEdge concatenated with the word "Service". The word "Service" is in quotes because the URI is case sensitive and the "S" in Service is uppercase. Also please note that for the URI, the service name is used twice, once before the word "rest" and once after the word "rest".

The next question is, when developing in Progress Developer Studio, where can this information be found?
To find the project's service relative URI, look at the Create a REST service page.

The service relative URI is also shown on the REST Resource URI Editor page.

On the REST Resource URI Editor page, the service URI and resource names can be found. After performing the parameter mapping function the method used to implement a resource and the mappings of parameters to response (output) or request to parameter (input) can also be found.
