How to activate your new WhatsUp Gold Subscription license (Business, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus) over your old perpetual license (Total/Total Plus/Premium)

If you've chosen to go with a new subscription offering instead of renewing an existing license here are instructions on how to activate the new license in your existing WhatsUp Gold installation.

You'll need to deactivate the old license from your server first, here are instructions on how to do that:

1. Click Start > Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold > Manage WhatsUp Gold License
2. Select 'Deactivate this license on this computer
3. Click Next
4. Click Finish on the confirmation screen 

Once deactivation is complete proceed with activating your new license:

If the server has access to internet:

Click Start > Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold > *right-click* Manage WhatsUp Gold License > More > Run as admin > Enter the subscription license activation key > Follow the rest of the prompts to complete activation.

Or if the server is offline follow the steps below to perform an offline activation:

1. Open your license manager in elevated privileges

Click Start > Progress WhatsUp Gold > *right-click* Manage WhatsUp Gold License > More > Run as admin

2. Enter the subscription license activation key 

3. Look below the text box where you entered the activation key and un-check the box 'Use active internet connection'.

4. Click 'Activate' then click 'Generate File' and save the license.ofa file somewhere easily accessible.

5. From a computer with internet upload the OFA file to the offline activation site. (Select 'Upload OFA file' from the drop-down list)

6. Save the license file and then import it into the activation utility to complete activation.
