Enabling UrlEvaluationMode= QueryString for a widget on a page makes the canonical urls for page include the query string when the page is filtered by taxonomy.

Cause

Filtering by taxons in Sitefinity uses querystrings and based on this the filtered page contains different content and can be considered different page and thus canonical urls for pages by default contain query string.

Resolution

To disable the query string from being added to the canonical url there are two approaches:
1. Disable from the UI by going to Administration->Settings->Advanced->System->Content Locations->PageDefaultCanonicalUrlSettings->Allowed Canonical Url Query String Parameters and delete the parameter 'page' from there and the setting will be instantly applied.

2. The other approach is through code if you want to keep certain query strings in canonical urls you can have control over the canonical url putput by subscribing to OnPagePreRenderCompleteEventHandler can intercept the addition of canonical urls like sampled below:
