Total amount with exact fraction is sent to the PayPal without rounding off the decimal points in case the store uses "Including tax automatically" option at the Ecommerce -> Store settings -> Tax.

Question/Problem Description

In the UI all calculations are made with rounding off the price of the single item, and at the end, the information sent to PayPal is single item price without rounding off the decimal points and total tax amount, which causes the difference between the displayed price at the UI and the price sent to the PayPal.

An example of the issue:

Good journey:
purchase a single Coin Buddy ($8 INC GST), + $12.95 shipping = $20.95
This price is shown on the Sitefinity checkout, and in the email and charged by Paypal.

Bad journey:
Purchase 13 * coin buddy. 13 x $8 = $104 + $0 shipping = $104 total
This price is shown on the Sitefinity checkout, and in the email. But Paypal shows $103.96.

Resolution

Upgrade the project to Sitefinity 10.1.6522.0 or higher.

Workaround

Use "Excluding tax. Tax will be included on checkout" option at Ecommerce » Store settings » Tax.

To show the product price including Tax at the frontend UI, JavaScript can be used; get all the product prices from the UI, add Tax to these and then replace the product prices with the updated value.

Sample JavaScritp that can be used on the products and shopping cart page(s) when using the default template for the Product list and Shopping cart widget:

Notes

The amount of votes an item in the feedback portal has is taken into consideration when determining its priority. Vote for the item using the Like and Dislike buttons in the right-hand side menu to affect the priority it has. By casting a vote the voter will also be subscribed to a mailing list to receive notifications about changes of the item such as when it is fixed or implemented.
