Question/Problem Description

A custom control with properties that has multiple values, that are to be displayed as a drop-down list, is not visible in the properties panel.
Properties are defined as either an ENUM or CHARACTER EXTENT, e.g:

// Property definition

DEFINE PUBLIC PROPERTY SampleProperty AS SampleEnum
GET.
SET.


//ENUM definition:

ENUM SampleEnum: 
    DEFINE ENUM FirstEnumValue 
                SecondEnumValue.
END ENUM.

A property which has a single value is displayed correctly.

Cause

This is expected behavior.
The AVM doesn't put array properties into the proxy for the hybrid class type because there is no way to display their value in the property sheet.
It also doesn't put properties that are class types into the proxy unless it is a .NET class type, since .NET would have no way of handling with such a thing.

Resolution

It was determined that the Progress Product is functioning as designed.

An enhancement to the product can be requested through the Progress Community via an Ideas submission. Customer feedback is valuable and Idea submissions are monitored by our Product Management team. Enhancement requests are reviewed during the planning phase of each new product release and a list of the enhancements chosen for implementation can be found in the Release Notes documents that accompany each release. Once an Idea is submitted the Progress Software Community will have the opportunity to comment on and vote for the Idea.

Workaround

Create a .NET custom control using ENUM in Visual Studio.
