Cause

There is more than one content link (e.g. two content links to avatar images) associated with a user who has recently modified a particular item.

Resolution

1. Check for content link entries having the same parent and component property name:

SELECT COUNT(*), parent_item_id, parent_item_type, component_property_name
FROM sf_content_link
GROUP BY parent_item_id, parent_item_type, component_property_name
HAVING COUNT(*) > 1

2. If the above query returns entries, copy the parent_item_id and execute the below query to find the problematic content links:

SELECT *
FROM sf_content_link
WHERE parent_item_type='Telerik.Sitefinity.Security.Model.SitefinityProfile'
AND component_property_name='Avatar'
AND parent_item_id='<parent item id from the first query>'

3. To find the associated users use the next query:

SELECT user_name
FROM sf_users
WHERE id IN (SELECT user_id
FROM sf_user_profile
WHERE id IN (SELECT parent_item_id
FROM sf_content_link
GROUP BY parent_item_id
HAVING COUNT(*) > 1
))

4. Check if any of the records returned in step 2 is corrupted. Copy the child_item_id from step 2:

SELECT *
FROM sf_media_content
WHERE content_id='<child_item_id from step 2>'

5. Delete the duplicate content link using the API. If there is a corrupted record in step 4, delete the relevant content link, otherwise, choose one of the records in step 2 and delete it.
