  • We installed sitefinity to a beta machine. Everything works great, except for it seems to not be able to connect to the database.

    When you browse to the root of sitefinity, it should show our home page that we made. But instead it shows the default page that sitefinity provides. Its the page that says 'Thank you for visiting our website. Please return soon for updates.'.

    And when we try to login to the admin section, it says invalid username or password.

    We have a staging machine that works great with the very same configuration, ie. database connection strings, etc.

    The issue you're describing is very strange, indeed. Can you, please, share with us some more details on your project setup, as the problems seem to be related more to your infrastructure (since you're mentioning Sitefinity works fine on your staging machine). Can you, please, make sure you've followed the deployment steps from our Installation and Administration guide, and also, can you, please, check if the connection string in the App_Data->Sitefinity->Configuration->DataConfig.config points to the right instance of your Database?
