Thunder connection fails every time

  • Thunder connection fails every time
  • I have Sitefinity 8.1 running under IIS 8.5 on a Windows Server 2012 R2 box.

    I cannot connect Thunder through the URL of the publicly available website, either from a remote machine or the server itself. I run VS 2013 on both remote pc & server.

     I try to install the Thunder module into my project, it says its completed successfully, but it hasn't or at least I can see no trace of it in the project folder!

    I find the lack of meaningful error messages extremely poor, forcing me to resort to filing tickets or posting on forums. I have looked at the previous answers on here, and none of them work for me.

    Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Thunder (

    Also try making a separate admin account that is used solely for the Thunder connection.
