Error message appears when installing Telerik UI for Winforms with an OpenEdge 11.6 Service Pack
An OpenEdge 11.6 Service Pack throws error: 'Telerik UI for Winforms failed to install'
The OpenEdge Service Pack install completes after the 'Telerik UI for Winforms failed to install’ message is acknowledged
 
Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
oespsetup.log shows:
Event22= The installation of Telerik UI For WinForms (trial version) has started. 
Event23= The Telerik UI For WinForms (trial version) installation is complete. 
Event24= Telerik UI for Winforms failed to install.
Error MessageTelerik UI for Winforms failed to install.
Defect NumberPSC00350444
Enhancement Number
Cause
The Telerik UI for Winforms that were installed as part of the 11.6.1 Service Pack install were uninstalled from Windows: Add or Remove Programs, System Settings.
Later 11.6 Service Pack installs expect "Telerik UI for Winforms" to still be installed.  
Resolution
Fixed OpenEdge 11.7.1 Service Pack install routines
Workaround
The latest version of Telerik winform controls are installed with OpenEdge despite the message and can be accessed from Progress Developer Studio for OpenEdge.

If Telerik UI for Winforms are not required, the shortcut can be removed from the desktop and uninstalled (again) through Windows: Add or Remove Programs, System Settings.
