Prior to OpenEdge 10.0A, Progress shipped the complete Language/PROMSGS with the installation media.
Starting with OpenEdge 10.0A, Progress no longer distributes the complete Language/PROMSGS set with the core installation media.
Instead, additional Language/PROMSGS sets can be downloaded from the Progress Software ESD (Electronic Software Distribution) site. To access ESD Login credentials are required or can be requested. Refer to Article:
Once in the ESD Center, additional Language/PROMSGS deployment components are available directly under the related OpenEdge version catalog page:
- Progress OpenEdge
- Progress OpenEdge <version> (eg: 10.2.x)
- Supplemental PROMSGS
On this web page there will be a couple of files that will need to be downloaded:
- PROMSGS Installation Notes. This file provides detailed instructions how to install and configure the supplemental promsgs.
- OpenEdge Supplemental PROMSGS download file for the Operating System associated with the OpenEdge installation that requires these languages.

Note : Since OE 11.0 [sch] Chinese (simplified) Supplemental Package is part of the installation media itself. Choose this language during the installation of the product if required.
