Agents managed through Progress Explorer fails to start with error 11065
When a log file threshold size is set, the agent fails to start.

The run-time error occurs (11065) and the OpenEdge process terminates when an out of range number is specified in the configuration values, which is expected behavior.

The issue is that Progress Explorer is not validating the Agent log file threshold size when it is initially saved in the configuration.  This has been addressed in the OpenEdge Explorer product which replaced the Progress Explorer.

The Progress Explorer tool was replaced with "OpenEdge Explorer" (OEE) which is an endemic part of the OpenEdge installation in 10.2B and later.

If unable to upgrade to OpenEdge 10.2B or later, ensure the Log Threshold value is valid:

Progress Explorer: Broker, Agent, Logging Setting, "Agent Log File Threshold Size" ​

The Log Threshold (-logthreshold) set in the Progress Explorer; needs to be set to either:

• 0, which then limits the logfile to OS filesize limits, or
• Within the range between 500,000 and 2,147,483,647 (bytes, where one byte typically holds one character). A file size up to 2GB, inclusive, but not lower than 500,000 can be set.
