Progress doesn't support cross-platform compatibility of probkup volumes, regardless of whether those backup files were created online or offline.

There can be compatibility of probkup volumes between certain UNIX platforms, but the practice is not supported and should be avoided. Progress has not tested the backup and restore compatibility between different UNIX Operating Systems.

Compatible platforms are:
  • Sun Solaris Intel, Linux Intel, Compaq Tru64 
  • AIX, Sun Solaris SPARC, HP-UX 
SCO Operating Systems are not compatible with any other platforms.

For further information refer to Articles:  While a PROREST or an OS copy of the database between different platforms, even if it appears to work, when this baseline is required to use for After-imaging, after-image processing across platforms is not supported by Progress. Additionally, restoring backups with or without AI roll forward between different OpenEdge versions  is also unsupported. For further information refer to Article:
