Question/Problem Description

The Web Services Adapter returns an error when deploying a WSM file which has been generated in a newer OpenEdge version of ProxyGen
A WSM file generated through ProxyGen cannot be deployed through a Web Services Adapter which is of an older version than ProxyGen
A WSM file generated in OpenEdge 10.1C04 cannot be deployed in OpenEdge 10.1C03
Fails to parse the WSM entered. File doesn't contain valid WSM contents.
Deploy cannot proceed.

Cause

The Web Service Adapter (WSA) is only backward-compatible with the WSM files.

Resolution

Generate the WSM file in the same OpenEdge version as the WSA, or generate it in a previous OpenEdge release. After this you will be able to deploy the WSM file.
