Starting in 9.1E04, 10.0B05 and 10.1A, PROSTRCT STATISTICS can be run whilst the database is online.

Prior to 9.1E04 or 10.0B05, it is not possible to run PROSTRCT STATISTICS against a database that is in use (either in single-user or multi-user mode). As an alternative, run DBANALYS:

PROUTIL <dbname> -C DBANALYS

This will supply information about index, record and free chain blocks while the database is in use.
