The Audit Policy Maintenance Tool (APMT) is a Windows only tool. When the database is on a non-Windows platform auditing policies can be added in three ways:
- Use the Windows based Audit Policy Maintenance Tool to build a set of audit policies which are then exported to an XML file and imported into the database via the Character Mode Data Administration utility
- Use the Windows based Audit Policy Maintenance Tool to directly connect to the database and implement the audit policies
- Use the APMT API interface. An example is provided in Article Character solution for creating/maintaining audit policies
