Question/Problem Description
OpenEdge 12.0 Installer fails to install the OpenEdge Adapter for SonicMQ

After installing OpenEdge 12 on Windows OpenEdge Explorer will not allow SonicMQ Adapter instances to be created.  It raises an error indicating that the licences for the installed products are not correct:

User-added image
It doesn't seem to matter what products are installed, even if all products are installed with the 'Complete' option, it still isn't possible to create new instances of the adapter.

Steps to Reproduce
Clarifying Information
The adapter cannot be created and started manually with <DLC>\bin\adaptconfig.bat and <DLC>\bin\adaptman.bat, since <DLC>\bin\adaptman.bat doesn't exist in the installation.
Error MessageSonicMQ Adapter not licensed for AdminServer: <serverName>
Defect NumberDefect ADAS-18353
Enhancement Number
Cause
The '4GL Sonic Adapter plugin' section has been removed from the AdminServerPlugins.properties file.

In addition the adaptman.bat script has been replaced by the oemessaging utility.  This is expected.
Although there is a documentation bug related to the oemessaging utility since it is not documented in the OpenEdge 11.7 or 12.0 documentation set.  For documentation how to use this utility, see:

https://documentation.progress.com/output/oe117sp/index.html#page/gssp2%2Fworking-with-openedge-jms-adapter.html%23.

In OpenEdge 12.2 the JMS provider and plugin information has been removed from the AdminServerPlugins.properties file and placed in JavaTools.properties.  To configure the OpenEdge Adapter in OpenEdge 12.2 and later, please see article How to enable Openedge JMS adapter for OpenEdge version 12.2.
Resolution
None at this time.
Workaround
In OpenEdge 12.0 and 12.1, copy the '4GL Sonic Adapter plugin' section from the previous OpenEdge 11.7 installations' AdminServerPlugins.properties file, and place this in the same position in the OE 12 AdminServerPlugins.properties file. The section starts with:

#
# 4GL Sonic Adapter plugin - SonicMQ adapter support
#

Once this is done, restart the Adminserver.  This should now allow new adapter instances to be created and started.
