The following command will show you whether you are running 64 bit kernel on Solaris 7, 8, 9, 10 Operating environments:
isainfo -kv
Example:
64-bit sparcv9 kernel modules
32-bit sparc kernel modules
Additional information regarding how to boot 32 and 64 bit kernels:
Most systems are booted with the 64-bit kernel by default. Those systems with less than 200 Mhz CPUs boot the 32-bit kernel. The default can be changed by following instructions outlined in the /platform/sun4u/boot.conf file or boot (1M) man page. This should only be done after the flash PROM has been updated and the 64-bit software is installed. For further information please contact your Operating System vendor.
