Error 44 accessing a Restored Database

Database server crashed and the only database back-ups available are third-party online back-ups.
Every command executed against the recovered database results in error 44.
The db: and pro: values in the error message are invalid.

 

Commands were being executed in the same version as previous environment.
Attempts to force into the database, access -RO, unlock the .d1 extent, single user connections and to proserve with a high value for the -G parameter all resulted in error 44.

An Unsupported method of backing-up databases that falls outside of Progress supplied tools and guidelines. The master block appears to be corrupted.

Without a valid backup, the database cannot be restored.
