Is OpenEdge VSS aware?

Is the OpenEdge database VSS aware?
Are the plans to make the OpenEdge database compatible with VSS snapshots?
Are there any database parameters, features or utilities that can be used to make an online database aware of the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service or Volume Snapshot technology?

OpenEdge is not Volume Snapshot Service or Volume Shadow Copy Service VSS aware.  There are no current or future plans to implement this.  For further information refer to Article  Can Third Party tools be used to perform online or offline backups ?   

While Progress does not provide any integrated service or deamon for snapshot technologies. To make Progress work with VSS requires the use of the PROQUIET utility to quiesce the database in order to first synchronize database buffers to disk, before the VSS can perform the snapshot.  For further information refer to Article  What are Database Quiet Points?
