Today's Tip (Sept 28, 2012) - How to Quickly Access a Product Download on ESD

Did you know, that you do not have to navigate through your full product structure on ESD in order to access new files - including hotfixes?  The navigation experience can be focused on the delivery of new files by clicking on the Recent Files link in the left navigation pane on the landing page in ESD.

After clicking on the Recent Files page, you will be presented with the list of all files delivered to your account within the last 30 days. This includes any file for any product line you have on ESD.

After choosing which file you want to download you will be presented with the applicable EULA to accept:

and then be brought right to the file you have selected to download.

Additional Information
PANS (Progress Alert and Notification Service) is a proactive email notification service that allows you to receive daily updates of new knowledge base articles on the product(s) of your choice. You can select the article type you wish to receive (see below for a description of each type) and manage your subscriptions here (requires a SupportLink login). You will receive an email each day there are new articles published that meet the criteria you select. Selecting the link to the article will bring you to that article in our public knowledge base. It is like having our knowledge base right in your inbox!

Please note that each product you subscribe to will generate a separate email. Each product will only generate one email even if there are multiple article types published for that product on a given day.

Article Types
  • Product Alerts - Used primarily to announce service packs and minor releases,
  • Critical Alerts - Used to announce any critical product issue that we believe all customers need to be aware of.
  • New Articles - Used for the standard technical knowledge base articles. This type will also include Product and Critical Alerts.
  • Support Information - Used to keep you informed of important changes, updates and tips you need to know in order to get the most out of working with Progress SupportLink. This article type is product-independent.
If you do not wish to receive future updates you may unsubscribe at any time by clicking here and de-selecting the Support Information option.
